Adventures of the Indy Hat
And so it begins... I have officially finished work for the next few weeks... Although it felt like I was doing the next two weeks work in one day.. Word had got out I was off where-phones-can-not-reach, so I had a not-so-orderly queue of people round me all day getting me to make ad-hoc amendments to the systems, and others asking questions, while I hand over all my projects for babysitting... I almost didn't make it to Jessops on time.
I must say All Hail to the gents in the main basingstoke Jessops store, they were absolute stars, and stayed open a little late while we made the frantic dash back from work to get to the shop on time. They were really helpful, and did a load of the legwork during the day for me to suggest a decent lens that did everything I wanted and was not going to totally kick the ass out of my now de-flowered credit card... And then find one that was in stock somewhere this side of London.
Here's the tech specs if you are interested.
I am now in the midst of final packing and preparation. It is finally beginning to set in now that I am sitting at my desk wrapping a new scarf round my Indy hat, with medical supplies, maps, compass, boots, hiking kit, passport etc strewn around me. Why getting excited over the Indy Hat you say?
1. I am going somewhere that is going to be so sunny and hot I will need it.
2. I am going somewhere so remote that no one will see me looking like a right idiot wearing it (and if they do I won't care)
I don't know how he makes it look sexy, I certainly don't...
